Warner Bros. Discovery today substantially expanded the European footprint of its flagship direct-to-consumer streaming service Max, officially launching the unified entertainment platform in five additional European countries.

The expansion brings together prestige scripted programming from HBO, Warner Bros. Hollywood theatrical releases, Discovery unscripted reality television, and live sports coverage from Eurosport into a singular digital application for European audiences.

A Unified Content Powerhouse for European Living Rooms

Subscribers in the new territories will gain instant access to globally celebrated franchises including 'House of the Dragon', 'The Last of Us', and the DC Universe, alongside local original productions produced specifically for European viewers.

The platform introduces a flexible three-tier subscription structure in the region: a competitive Basic with Ads tier designed to capture cost-conscious households, a Standard HD tier, and a Premium tier offering concurrent 4K UHD streaming and Dolby Atmos sound.

“Europe is fundamental to our global streaming growth. By bringing together HBO, Warner Bros., and world-class live sports under Max, we offer European consumers an unmatched entertainment value.”

Driving Profitability in Competitive Streaming Landscape

The phased rollout follows successful transitions across the Nordics, Iberia, and Central Europe, positioning Max as a formidable competitor to Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video in the continent.

Executives reaffirmed that the direct-to-consumer division remains firmly on track to deliver sustained operating profitability throughout fiscal year 2026.
