Air France-KLM and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) officially activated an expansive commercial codeshare and loyalty partnership today, cementing a transformative realignment in European aviation as the flagship Nordic carrier formally transitions into the SkyTeam global airline alliance.

The pact connects the Scandinavian hubs of Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm directly with Air France's hub at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and KLM's hub at Amsterdam Schiphol, placing reciprocal airline codes on more than 175 inter-European routes.

Seamless Transatlantic Connectivity via Paris and Amsterdam

The bilateral codeshare enables international travelers to book single-ticket itineraries connecting Nordic regional destinations directly to Air France and KLM's sprawling long-haul networks serving North America, Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

Baggage through-check, synchronized flight scheduling, and shared rebooking protocols will streamline passenger journeys across the northern European transport corridor.

“This partnership opens a thrilling new chapter for European travelers, bringing Scandinavian connectivity into the heart of the SkyTeam global network.”

Reciprocal Frequent Flyer Integration

Simultaneously, members of SAS EuroBonus and Air France-KLM Flying Blue gain full reciprocal earn-and-burn capabilities, lounge access, priority boarding, and fast-track security screening across all member airlines.

Aviation analysts view the integration as a decisive victory for SkyTeam in consolidating northern European market share following SAS's successful financial restructuring.
