McLaren driver Lando Norris laid down an impressive marker in the tropical night heat at the Marina Bay Street Circuit on Friday, topping the timesheets in second free practice for the Singapore Grand Prix by a slender margin of 0.058 seconds over Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
Under the dazzling illumination of over 1,600 trackside floodlights, Norris guided his McLaren MCL38 through the bumpy 19-turn street layout to clock a lap of 1 minute 30.727 seconds on soft Pirelli rubber, responding to Leclerc's earlier benchmark set in opening practice.

Ferrari demonstrated remarkable corner-entry agility, with Leclerc pushing aggressively over the kerbs to finish second and teammate Carlos Sainz securing third place, six-tenths adrift. Yuki Tsunoda delivered a standout performance for RB, taking fourth ahead of McLaren's Oscar Piastri.
In stark contrast to McLaren and Ferrari's fluid pace, reigning world champion and current points leader Max Verstappen suffered a dismal session. The Red Bull driver wrestled with chronic understeer and a lack of rear axle grip across the street circuit's sharp direction changes.
