Korean champions Gen.G and Chinese contenders LNG Esports became the first two teams to punch their tickets to the 2024 League of Legends World Championship Knockout Stage. Competing during Round 3 of the Swiss Stage at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, both powerhouses posted pristine 3-0 series sweeps to bypass the elimination gauntlet.
In a titanic clash between South Korea's top two domestic seeds, Mid-Season Invitational winners Gen.G exacted revenge against summer split champions Hanwha Life Esports. After dropping the opening skirmish to HLE's aggressive engage compositions, Gen.G rallied through brilliant macro shotcalling and game-deciding teamfights in games two and three.

Earlier in the day, third-seeded LPL representative LNG Esports maintained their immaculate tournament momentum by dismantling South Korea's Dplus KIA in a clinical 2-0 sweep. Mid laner Lee 'Scout' Ye-chan dictated tempo across both matches, orchestrating aggressive river rotations alongside jungler Wei 'Weiwei' Bo-han.

LNG's bot lane duo of Chen 'GALA' Wei and Fu 'Hang' Ming-hang completely neutralized DK's aggressive bot lane strategies, racking up decisive gold leads before transition skirmishes. With the sweep, LNG validated their championship pedigree despite pre-tournament roster uncertainties.
